"Literature is my Utopia. Here I am not disenfranchised. No barrier of the senses shuts me out from the sweet, gracious discourses of my book friends. They talk to me without embarrassment or awkwardness." -Helen Keller

Anonymous said: "This is true love. A couple that reads together stays together."There is value in love that doesn't last forever, you know. It isn't any less 'true'. A relationship that ends only by one person dying isn't automatically better than one that ends earlier.

Hhmm, this was probably asked ages ago but it was just the name of the photo. I didn’t say it myself. And everyone has different opinions of what love is and what relationships look like. If they believe true love should last forever then so it goes. Love is too obscure and comes in so many forms its bound to mean different things to different people.

But thank you for your input. :)

Anonymous said: What books are on your 100 book reading list?

A whole lot of classics and biographies. Rereading some of my favorites, right now I’m reading The Help again. But in kinda just reading whatever comes to me or whatever I’m in the mood for. I’m reading a lot of black history in February as well.

Greetings.

I’m trying to get back on Tumblr more. I’ve been gone for so long. But I’m doing the book challenge this year of 100 books. I’ve been keeping track of them on my Goodreads and Instagram. Thinking of also starting a twitter account. Who knows?

But I miss being a part of the Tumblr literary world and plan to get back in. 😊

4:100 “You may have guessed that I loved him all along; but I did not know it. Oh, I loved him as a brother and respected him as a friend, but Celie, I love him bodily, as a man! I love his walk, his size, his shape, his smell, the kinkiness of his hair. I love his big nose. I love his brows. I love his feet. And I love his dear eyes in which the vulnerability and beauty of his soul can be plainly read.” Amazing book. #thecolorpurple #blackhistory #books #reading (at the factory)

3:100 “There is more in you of good than you know, child of the kindly West. Some courage and some wisdom, blended in measure. If more of us valued food and cheer and song above hoarded gold, it would be a merrier world.” I loved every bit of this book. #thehobbit #jrrtolkien (at the factory)

2:100 “But I like the inconveniences.” “We don’t,” said the Controller. “We prefer to do things comfortably.” “But I don’t want comfort. I want God, I want poetry, I want real danger, I want freedom, I want goodness. I want sin.” “In fact,” said Mustapha Mond, “you’re claiming the right to be unhappy.” “All right then,” said the Savage defiantly, “I’m claiming the right to be unhappy.” “Not to mention the right to grow old and ugly and impotent…the right to have too little to eat; the right to be lousy; the right to live in constant apprehension of what may happen tomorrow…the right to be tortured by unspeakable pains of every kind.” There was a long silence. “I claim them all,” said the Savage at last. Mustapha Mond shrugged his shoulders. “You’re welcome,” he said. (at The Factory)

1:100 First book of the year finished. Chuck Palahniuk is one of my favorite authors. “Only after disaster can we be resurrected. It’s only after you’ve lost everything that you’re free to do anything. Nothing is static, everything is evolving, everything is falling apart.” (at The Factory)

Subject to change. And my goal is to read 100 books this year, there is more than that here so I probably won’t read all of these. But I want to!
